Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Cheh! Don't Say It ("Cheh ! le mot interdit" in French, "CHEH" below) is a party game published by Amine ("we"). This policy explains what data is processed when you use the app, and why.

In short

1. Data that stays on your phone

To run the game, the app stores locally, on your device: the names entered for the last game; your settings (language, sound, vibration, game mode, chosen topic moods); the history of the words and discussion topics of the last games, to avoid repeats; the number of finished games, the date of the last finished game and your answer to the notification offer; your msemen balance (the in-game points); and the word packs you unlocked or paused.

Names, words and topics never leave your phone. Only the information described in section 2 (game language and counters) is sent, and only if you allow notifications. This data is deleted if you uninstall the app. There is no account and we keep no copy, so we cannot restore your msemen or unlocked packs.

2. Notifications

To manage notifications (new words, new packs, events, reminders), the app uses OneSignal. As soon as the app opens, whether or not you accepted notifications, OneSignal stores an identifier specific to this installation and technical information: device model, OS and app version, language, time zone, country, IP address, number and length of sessions. If you allow notifications, and only then, we also send it a few usage details to tailor messages: game language, number of finished games, date of the last game, your msemen balance and the number of packs you unlocked; OneSignal then also records the notifications you open. If you withdraw your permission, these usage details are no longer sent and the ones already sent are erased the next time the app opens. Versions before 1.1.0 send the game language, the number of finished games and the date of the last game without waiting for this permission; from version 1.1.0 on, the app erases them when it opens if notifications are not allowed. Names, words and pack names are never sent. No notification is sent to you unless you allowed them.

Purpose: sending useful, infrequent notifications, for example to tell you that a new pack is out or that you have enough msemen to unlock one. Legal basis: your consent for sending notifications and for the usage details, which you can withdraw at any time in your phone settings; our legitimate interest in running the notification service for the technical registration made when the app opens. Retention: while the app is installed, then deletion on request at cheh.lejeu@gmail.com.

3. App updates

On launch, the app checks for updates through Expo's EAS Update service. This sends technical information (platform, app version, an anonymous installation identifier, IP address and, if an update failed to start, an error report) needed to deliver the right update. No game data is sent.

4. App stores

Downloads go through Apple's App Store or Google Play, which apply their own privacy policies.

5. Transfers outside the EU

OneSignal and Expo may process data in the United States, under the safeguards provided by EU law (standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms).

6. Children

CHEH is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, and object to its processing. Since there are no user accounts, the easiest way to stop notifications is to turn them off in your phone settings. This also stops the usage details of section 2 from being sent, and the ones already sent are erased the next time the app opens. For any other request, contact cheh.lejeu@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the last change.
